Attention Pittsburgh folks or collectors of H.j. Heinz memorabilia. A fairly rare find. Working H.J. Heinz Baked Beans Crock Pot. Discovered in the basement of a long closed cafeteria / restaurant in Lancaster, OH. These were given to cafeteria style restaurants as both a practical item, and to advertise Heinz baked beans. The idea was, if a diner saw the brand, and liked the beans, they would buy them in their local grocery store.
We filled this with water and turned it on for an hour. Water got hot! No further testing done (We didn't put any beans in it.). No chips or cracks of any kind. Heavy duty commercial grade plug and cord. The custom shaped original ladle is present. Measures 15" high and a large 38" in circumference. We estimate the capacity at approximately 3/4 of a gallon.
Aluminum lid shows expected light aging. Inner food container is very clean. Outer aluminum sleeve shows hard water scaling, which can be cleaned. Does not come in contact with the inner container, or food.
