We've sold many Marble and Shattuck chairs over the years, but never in such excellent condition and this variant is new to us. An extensive search leads us to believe these were part of a custom order with their factory in Cleveland in the early 1900's. A unique mix of elements from other company lines as well as elements we've never seen in another M & S chair. Leg turnings and outer frames are those of the company's 'Bank of England' design, while the back slats are unlike anything they offered that we can find but echo those used in their Windsor chair lines. Not even the production numbers and metal badge lead us anywhere! (We love little mysteries like this). Each measures 23.5" W x 34.0" H x 24.5" D. Seat height is the standard 18"

In overall amazing century and a quarter condition. All joinery remains tight. No wobbles or creaking. No cracks, splits, repairs, etc. Finish wear is very, very minimal as shown. Note underside of leg elements of chair on left has white paint rub from being moved at some point. Does not show when upright. These can be pretty easily removed if desired.
