Large (over 2 feet to top of candle platforms) 19th century Portuguese Colonial pricket stand in the form of a seated cherub. Measures 28" to top of candle platforms. Heavy steel under framing, wrapped in dried grasses, covered in gesso, then hand painted. Hand painted wood candle platforms. Gesso shows expected losses as shown. Under framing in excellent condition. Wings, etc. remain well attached. A brag-worthy find.
